I have been in opposition of artificial sweeteners for a long time, and vocal about high fructose corn syrup as well. Exercise continues to be one of the single activities that can do so much for your body. Now, studies prove that it also helps your brain. But we know how good we feel after a nice walk, a run, a swim or any thing that helps us to bust a sweat. The emotional component to exercise releases endorphins that gives us a sense of well-being. When we invest in exercise, we invest in ourselves and that alone helps us to feel good.
Today I am rejoicing… Dr. Oz devoted an entire show to the menacing problem of parasites!! While many have considered me to be a little freak for discussing the little buggers, but with this topic being on mainstream television, you can’t say you didn’t know.

Recently I taught a Wellness Class in New York City and found myself engaged in a healthy debate about the unhealthy business of genetically modified foods. The intellectual sparring that transpired with the person who was ‘pro’ genetically modified foods was that they were good for us because of the larger size of the food being grown genetically we could feed more hungry people…and don’t we need to do that?
I completely agree that we need to feed hungry people but not at the expense of their health. I will take the hit on the organic apple the size of
my palm instead of one genetically modified to be the size of a newborn’s head. I will take the hit on the organic cucumber being the
length of my hand versus the length of my forearm.
I suppose that this is what the pharmaceutical giant Monsanto had in mind when they engaged in genetically modified foods in the first place…profits. The so-called “smart shopper” will automatically choose the larger apple and the longer cucumber because they are bigger, glossy, and cost less – a seemingly no-brain move for the consumer.
The savvy consumer will automatically go for the foods that have the dirt on them, are smaller, are not polished, and cost a bit more. We will also buy less because they have a shorter shelf life…as they should because they are not genetically modified.

The Environmental Working Group tested the umbilical cords of 10 babies and found hundreds of toxic chemicals in them. Translation…babies are BORN toxic even before they have a chance at living. This is staggering news! How has this happened? The toxic law is broken. On the table is a Kid-Safe Chemical Act which would be a process that ensures the safety of a chemical before it can be sold.
Then to add even more injury to a newborn, modern medicine assaults their systems with foreign antigens in the form of vaccinations. No WONDER autism is on the rise (but that is another hot topic).
Please sign this petition to demand that Congress take action to make the chemicals in consumer products kid-safe.
According to a study conducted by the Children’s Hospital in Boston more than half a million children suffer from bad reactions to medications in the United States EVERY year! To me this is an outrage.
Doctors are so ‘script happy’ that children are being over-medicated, medicated incorrectly, and experimented with in emergency rooms and doctor offices all across America. But doctors are not the only ones to blame. It is a parents responsibility to PREVENT their children from becoming sick. Parents also trek their children to the doctors office demanding drugs.
Until we get more educated about how to STAY well, it is unfortunate, but these numbers will only increase. Send your children to bed by 8pm instead of allowing them to go to bed when you do. Give children water and fresh juiced juices instead of those ‘juice drinks’ that are made with things you cannot even pronounce.
Most parents would do anything for their children yet, that does NOT translate in how they are fed. Breakfast is a bowl of sugar masquerading as cereal. Lunch is a portable, processed pre-packaged container of chemicals, and dinner is microwaved or out-of-a-drive- thru because we have no time to cook. Mmmmm…it is no wonder these numbers are so high!
We need to take an inventory of what we feed our children to reduce the need to enter a doctor’s office in the first place.

Antiperspirants contain high levels of aluminum that prohibit you from sweating. That is a REALLY bad idea. The sweat glands operate in conjunction with the lymphatic system that is trying to unload all of the junk we put in by sweating it out. When the body is prohibited from doing its job then toxins stay in. Also, is the little issue of aluminum that soaks into the skin. It is now no secret that aluminum is a major contributor to Alzheimer’s Disease.
